Steak Entree

Tempeh is one of my fave protein sources ever! It's healthy, inexpensive, and lasts unopened for so long. If I'm not able to go shopping for fresh meat, this is always an option I keep stored in the back of my fridge.

Best part of this recipe? It comes together in minutes with things you most likely already have in your kitchen!

Tangy BBQ Tempeh

Serves 2

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:

• 1 tbsp unsalted butter (vegan if wanted)

• 1/4 cup+2 tbsp ketchup

• 2 tbsp lemon juice

• 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

• 1/8 tsp black pepper

• 2 tsp crystal hot sauce

• 1/4 tsp agave

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝:

1. (optional: Steam tempeh 10 mins) Cut tempeh into into 10 strips.

2. In a nonstick pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add in the remaining ingredients, except the tempeh, and stir to combine.

3. Add in the tempeh and “baste”, spooning the sauce over it and stirring so it doesn't burn, until the sauce is thick enough to your liking.

4. That's seriously it!

Tip: Serve over mashed cauliflower with a side salad.
