Cold Brew Coffee tends to be lower in acidity that hot brewed coffee, so this was great given the stomach issues many of our meds can give us Spoonies. Plus, I love that its technically a "MAKE AHEAD" recipe. I make it on a Monday and it keeps in the refrigerator for about 5 days, so I can wake up and get to my much needed morning cup of coffee with very little thought... or coherence.

We all know mornings are a struggle when you're flarin'!

EZ Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate

Makes 10 servings of concentrate = 5 days of coffee for 2 people!

SPOONIE TIP: Once you have the jar and filter the only cost is the coffee. It comes together in 5 minutes so if you do it early evening, its ready to go for you in the morning!

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:

  • 6 ounces COARSE ground coffee, darker blends are better

  • 6 cups cold or room temp (preferably filtered) water

Tools (Links below):

  • 1 wide mouth, 64oz ball jar (under $5 at Target.com)

  • 1 re-usable cold brew filter (around $12 on Amazon)

  • 1- kitchen scale

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝:

  1. Weight out your coffee and pour it into the filter which is set inside the ball jar.

  2. Pour the pre-measured water over it.

  3. Refrigerate for 8-12 hours. (Make it at night before you go to bed.)

  4. In the morning, pull out the filter. We like to pour the cold brew into a plastic pitcher with a spout that helps measuring it out for each cup easier.

TO MAKE YOUR COFFEE IN THE MORNING:

  1. Combine 1/2 cup of cold brew concentrate and 1/2-3/4 cup cold water, depending on how strong a flavor you like. I tend to do 1/3 cup.

***You can add in your creamer or sweetener too. Play around with how much water if you also want ice, but I've never felt I needed it since the coffee is cold out of the fridge.
